Nanjing Yangtze River Tunnel Radar‑Video Fusion Incident Detection System Case
Nanjing Transportation Operation Management Group, Jiangsu Baisheng Information, and Nanjing Hurys jointly developed the “High‑volume, Long‑span Cross‑river Radar‑Video Fusion Incident Detection System”, successfully deployed in the Yingtian Avenue Yangtze River Tunnel. The project won the 2023 China ITS Association Science and Technology Progress Award.

Using millimeter‑wave radar as the core, the system integrates radar‑video fusion, multi‑radar stitching, edge computing, and digital twin technologies to build a unified tunnel monitoring system. It achieves second‑level sensing and automatic alerts for individual vehicle trajectories, traffic conditions, and abnormal incidents. The system effectively alleviates pain points in long‑span tunnel monitoring (e.g., difficulty in observation, slow response) and significantly improves operational safety and incident handling efficiency, setting a technical benchmark for intelligent long‑span tunnel management.
